As an experienced professional with more than 300 senior appearances behind him Bradley Orr knows only too well the importance of the busy festive period.
Tomorrow’s visit by Bristol City launches Town on a hectic spell of four league games in the space of just 10 days, at the end of which they could have moved towards a mid-table slot or been dragged back down into the bottom three.
Orr said: "This stage of the season is always very important, not only for the players, the squad and the staff but also for the fans. They love the Christmas period and if we can pick up as many points as possible it will be great.
"The games come so thick and fast that there’s not even any time to think about them — whether you’ve won, lost or drawn you just have to get on with it and move on to the next one. It’s an important period and one that we must prepare for well.
"Once you get the Christmas period out of the way you get a little break from the league when the FA Cup comes along. Then you can sit down, see where you are and re-assess the situation and set some goals regarding what’s needed and where you’re aiming to be.
"It’s maybe a time to reflect and I’ve no doubt the staff will tell us what is expected of us.”
