Non-League Winger on Trial - Ipswich Town News

Banbury United winger Kynan Isaac has spent the week on trial with the Blues. The 20-year-old will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division player Tyrone Mings, who made the leap from Chippenham to Championship football with Town only last month.

Banbury manager Edwin Stein, the brother of one-time Town loanee Mark, says the former Oxford City player has the right attitude to impress the Blues staff: "He’s got a hell of a chance. Mick McCarthy is a good, fair manager and he will have a good look at him.

"You can see the desire and the hunger Kynan has to succeed and you have to feed it. He has been excellent and I can’t fault his commitment.

"He’s led the line well for me and created havoc among opposition defences. He’s a joy to have around.

"He’s definitely got the ability to do it. He’s well made up. It’s now down to Ipswich — it’s their call.”

Left-sided Isaac was with Reading’s youth set-up before being released and joining Oxford City in February 2011. He moved on to Banbury in October of last year and since then has scored six goals in 15 games.

Isaac had a trial with Stoke in the summer and earlier in the season a similar spell with Brighton was cut short by injury.
