Kisnorbo Makes Debut in Much-Changed Side at Villa - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy has named the expected much-changed side for today’s FA Cup third round tie at Aston Villa. Centre-half Patrick Kisnorbo is the only one of the three new signings to start.

Scott Loach is in goal with Elliott Hewitt making his first start at right-back with Aaron Cresswell on the left. Kisnorbo is at the heart of the defence alongside Tommy Smith, who captains the side for the first time, having previously worn the armband at international level with New Zealand.

In midfield, ex-Villa man Nigel Reo-Coker is in the centre with Luke Hyam with Jay Emmanuel-Thomas on the right and Lee Martin continuing on the left. Michael Chopra partners Daryl Murphy up front.

New boys David McGoldrick and Aaron Mclean are on the bench, as is Joe Whight for the first time since the Capital One Cup victory over Bristol Rovers on the opening day.

For Villa, ex-Blue Darren Bent starts against his old club for the first time having recovered from a hamstring injury.

Shortly before the kick-off, you can join other Town fans in our chatroom to discuss the match with many listening to the commentary on Radio Suffolk or ITFC Player.

The chatroom is open to anyone registered on TWTD and match photos will be published there when available. You can find it here and it should work in any browser or on any device.

The chatroom today has an added facility which will allow you to listen to the match live on BBC Radio Suffolk as there are different licensing arrangements on FA Cup matches.
