Author Eastwood's Memorabilia Up for Auction - Ipswich Town News

Town memorabilia and ephemera which was formerly the property of John Eastwood, who co-wrote The Men Who Made The Town in the mid-eighties, is included in a one-day sale of football memorabilia at Stacey’s Auctioneers and Valuers in Rayleigh on Monday 11th February (11am). Eastwood, who also wrote In Quest of Glory, died in 2004 aged 57.

The items in the auction include six Ipswich Town minute books 1880 — 1957 covering every detail of the club on a day-to-day basis, club handbooks, including the first edition 1937/38, scrapbooks, photos from 1936/37, Town’s final non-league season and also from the first season in Football League.

There is a complete collection of Ipswich Football Star newspapers from seasons 1936/37 to the 1980s, programmes, including unusual and rare editions, and tickets, one from the 1962 Charity Shield.

There are also further photos and books, including Eastwood’s copies of his own books, amongst them number 600 of The Men Who Made The Town, a limited edition of 600.
