McCarthy Nominated for Manager of the Month - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Mick McCarthy is amongst the nominees for December's Championship Manager of the Month award, as predicted yesterday. The Blues boss is up against Hull City's Steve Bruce and Cardiff's Malky Mackay for the gong.
McCarthy led the Blues to four wins - three of them away from home - one draw and one defeat during the final month of 2012.
The last time a Town boss was named Manager of the Month was back in 2004 when Joe Royle picked up the award for November.
Since then Royle, Jim Magilton and most recently, for August 2010, Roy Keane have all been nominated but without winning the award.
The winner will be announced on Friday on Sky Sports News from 10am when David McGoldrick will discover whether he has won the League One Player of the Month award for December from his time with Coventry.
