McGoldrick Wins But Mick Misses Out - Ipswich Town News
New Town striker David McGoldrick has been named the League One Player of the Month for his performances for his former loan club Coventry in December but boss Mick McCarthy has missed out on the Championship Manager of the Month gong to Hull City's Steve Bruce.
McGoldrick, who joined the Blues from Nottingham Forest last week, scored five goals in four matches for the Sky Blues.
Tommy Elphick from Bournemouth and Crewe’s Luke Murphy were the other nominees for the award won by the 25-year-old, while Cardiff boss Malky Mackay was the other man to miss out on being named the Manager of the Month.
