Town Amongst Clubs Eyeing Orient Winger - Ipswich Town News

Town are amongst a number of clubs eyeing Leyton Orient right winger Moses Odubajo. Norwich, Southampton, Wigan, Charlton and Brighton have also recently sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old in action.

The Greenwich-born wideman, who is currently being played in his less-favoured position of right-back, is out of contract at the end of the season having made an impact with the O’s this season after making his breakthrough in the last campaign.

A product of the youth set-up at Brisbane Road, the 5ft 10in tall winger previously spent time on loan in non-league with St Albans City, Sutton United and Bishop’s Stortford.

Odubajo, who scored a superb goal on his full league debut against Rochdale on the final day of 2011/12, has made 22 starts and eight sub appearances this season, scoring three goals and claiming three assists.

The Blues are likely to be in the market for cover for first-choice wingers Carlos Edwards and Lee Martin during this window.

Meanwhile, Cardiff City have joined the chase for former Blues loanee DJ Campbell, according to one of this morning’s papers.

Town boss Mick McCarthy wants the 31-year-old QPR striker to return to Portman Road but with Crystal Palace also very keen. Rangers boss Harry Redknapp recently said that "seven or eight” Championship clubs had enquired about Campbell.

Elsewhere, Redknapp has been linked with a move for ex-Town centre-half Titus Bramble, who is out of favour at Sunderland.
