Cowling Confirms Interest in Wordsworth - Ipswich Town News
Colchester United chairman Robbie Cowling has confirmed that his club has received interest in midfielder Anthony Wordsworth, but says no formal bid has yet been received. As reported yesterday, we understand Wordsworth is set to join the Blues, having been monitored by Mick McCarthy since he took over at Portman Road.
Cowling said: "There’s nothing to report yet. Other clubs do seem to be interested in Anthony, but as yet I have received no concrete offers.”
Wordsworth, who is out of contract at the end of the season, missed yesterday’s U’s defeat at home to Scunthorpe as he was starting a two-match ban after amassing 10 bookings.
Meanwhile, Town boss Mick McCarthy was spotted at Meridian FC in Charlton this afternoon, which is close to his family home.
