Trialists in U21 Side at Charlton - Ipswich Town News

Town have named two trialists in the U21 side taking on Charlton at their Sparrows Lane training ground this lunchtime (KO 1pm). Moldovan international defender Petru Racu is joined in the starting line-up by Banbury United winger Kynan Isaac, who has been with the club for a couple of weeks.

Racu, 25, plays at centre-half or right-back - where he appears to be lining up this afternoon - and is currently a free agent. The 6ft tall defender began his career with hometown club Zimbra Chisnău, moving on to Swedish side IFK Norrköping in 2007.

In 2008 he spent time in Finland while on loan at MYPA before joining FC Hjørring in February last year. The Danish club released him in the summer. Since then, he has spent time on trial at Leeds.

Racu, who has been capped 14 times by his country, is married to Mix Haxholm, a former ex-Miss Thailand and an archery champion who is hoping to take part in the 2016 Olympics.

Former Charlton loanee Frank Nouble is in a strong-looking Blues second string team.

U21s: Lee-Barrett, Racu, Kisnorbo, Mings, Whight, Carson, Hewitt, Lawrence, Isaac, Nouble, Emmanuel-Thomas. Subs: Crowe, Berkane, Burke, Marriott, October.
