U21s Win at Charlton - Ipswich Town News

Town’s U21s beat Charlton 2-1 at their Sparrows Lane training ground this afternoon, Patrick Kisnorbo and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas netting the goals.

In front of watching boss Mick McCarthy, Kisnorbo headed home a Byron Lawrence corner right on the stroke of half-time, then Emmanuel-Thomas added the second in the 68th minute from a Frank Nouble cross.

Ade Azeez pulled one back for the Addicks right at the death, heading home after Arran Lee-Barrett had stopped his penalty.

The Blues included trialists Petru Racu and Kynan Isaac in their starting line-up.

Meanwhile, the U21s’ home game with Bristol City, which was initially scheduled for later this month, has been re-arranged for Monday 15th April 15th with a 2pm kick-off at Playford Road.

U21s: Lee-Barrett, Racu, Kisnorbo, Mings, Whight, Carson, Hewitt, Lawrence, Isaac (Burke 84), Nouble, Emmanuel-Thomas. Unused: Crowe, Berkane, Marriott, October.
