Campbell Set to Leave QPR - Ipswich Town News
Former Blues loan striker DJ Campbell has been given the go-ahead to leave QPR in the next 48 hours by manager Harry Redknapp, according to reports. Blues boss Mick McCarthy has repeatedly said that he is still chasing the 31-year-old, despite adding three strikers to his squad during this transfer window, however, Crystal Palace have emerged as the favourites for his signature.
Palace are managed by Campbell’s former Blackpool boss Ian Holloway, who tried to take the frontman back to Bloomfield Road in October prior to his three-month spell with Town.
Redknapp, who today completed the signing of Marseille striker Loic Remy, recently said that "seven or eight” Championship sides had made enquiries regarding Campbell, who scored 10 goals in 17 games for the Blues.
