Clegg and McCarthy Pay Tribute to Scotland - Ipswich Town News
Chief executive Simon Clegg and manager Mick McCarthy have paid tribute to striker Jason Scotland, who, as TWTD reported yesterday, has left the club by mutual consent after his contract was settled.
Clegg told the club site: "I’d like to thank Jason for his services to Ipswich Town Football Club and wish him every success for the future.”
McCarthy added: "Jason is a fantastic guy and has been great around the training ground but we are going younger and he’s been missing out.
"He understands that and wants to go out and play football at the twilight of his career. We wish him well.”
Doncaster and Wolves are leading the chase for the 33-year-old, while Barnsley, Brighton and Preston have also been monitoring his situation.
