Chopra Could Face FA Action - Ipswich Town News
Town striker Michael Chopra could face action from the FA having been found guilty of breaching the rules of racing by a British Horseracing Authority inquiry on Friday. The 29-year-old was banned from having any involvement in horse racing for 10 years.
A spokesman for the FA told TWTD: "The Football Association are aware of the outcome of the case and will now digest the written findings of the BHA.”
Speaking on Friday, in the wake of the BHA inquiry’s findings, Steve Pearce, Town’s press manager, released a statement on behalf of the club: "This is a private matter between Michael and the British Horseracing Authority.
"Michael issued a statement before the inquiry began stating his reasons why he would not be appearing in front of the BHA.
"He has nothing further to add to that statement at this stage and wants to concentrate on an important game at Bristol City at the weekend.”
