Stearman Move Confirmed - Ipswich Town News

Town have confirmed that the paperwork relating to Wolves defender Richard Stearman’s half-season loan with the Blues has been completed. The 25-year-old was at Playford Road this morning to join his new team-mates for training.

The former England U21 international was brought to Molineux from Leicester, where he had come through the academy ranks, by Blues boss Mick McCarthy during his time in charge of the Midlanders.

The defender helped Wolves to the 2008/09 Championship title and then regularly featured for them in the Premier League.

Stearman played alongside fellow loanee Patrick Kisnorbo while with the Foxes and striker Frank Nouble was also at Wolves until joining Blues earlier in the month.

The versatile defender, who looks set to take over from the departed Bradley Orr at right-back, hadn’t made an appearance for Wolves since Dean Saunders took over as boss at Molineux. Prior to that, he had made 11 starts and four sub appearances this season.
