Scottish Midfielder Linked - Ipswich Town News
Scottish sources are linking Town with St Mirren midfielder Kenny McLean. A Championship club is understood to have made a verbal offer to the SPL side today with the Blues claimed to have been the interested party.
Town and Nottingham Forest were reported to have watched the 21-year-old in action before Christmas, prior to the central or left-sided midfielder undergoing minor knee surgery from which he returned last night.
However, even if Town were the Championship club who made the approach regarding McLean earlier today, it seems highly unlikely that there would be time for the formalities relating to the move to take place before tonight’s deadline with the player believed to still be in Scotland.
Scotland U19 and U21 international McLean, who started his career with his current club but spent time on loan at Arbroath in 2010, is contracted for a further 18 months.
