Campbell's Blackburn Move Fails to Go Through - Ipswich Town News
Former Blues loan striker DJ Campbell’s switch from QPR to Blackburn and Jerome Thomas’s move from West Brom to Ewood Park failed to go through before the 11pm deadline, Rovers have confirmed. The players could, however, still move on emergency loans in a week’s time.
Despite Campbell’s Blackburn move not going through this evening, Town can now no longer re-sign their 10-goal top scorer as players can’t be taken on emergency loans by the same club twice in the same season.
Meanwhile, one-time Town target George Boyd’s proposed £500,000 switch to Nottingham Forest fell through at the last minute due to a failed eye test. Boyd, who Forest subsequently tried to sign on loan, remains a Peterborough player.
