Centre-half Tommy Smith has been named in this week’s Football League Championship Team of the Week after his two-goal display in the Blues’ 4-0 victory over Middlesbrough at Portman Road on Saturday. Several other players with Town connections, including Smith’s close friend Jordan Rhodes, are also named in the select XI.
Rhodes, who is set to face his old club and Smith for the first time when the Blues travel to Blackburn next Saturday, scored twice as Rovers beat Bristol City 2-0.
Right-back Bradley Orr, who is also set to come up against Town next week having recently returned to Ewood Park, is also named, as is another ex-loanee David Stockdale, who is now with Hull for another temporary spell.
Derby central defender Richard Keogh is a former Town academy schoolboy and ballboy.
