Charity Challenge Vulture on Tonight's Naked Football Show - Ipswich Town News

This evening's Naked Football Show (ICR FM 6pm) sees regular hosts Graham Blackburn and David James joined to discuss the latest developments at Portman Road by Phil Pritchard and The Vulture, who is set to take on a fearsome charity challenge.

Listeners are more than welcome to add their comments, ask questions or suggest topics by emailing nakedfooty@yahoo.co.uk before the show or studio@icrfm.co.uk during it, or via text during the programme on 07797 800712. If anyone wants to appear as a guest on a future show, send an email.

Last week's MP3 is available here. The show is back on iTunes here. The show is also available on ICR’s Listen Again facility.

ICR can be heard in the immediate Ipswich area on 105.7FM and has an eclectic array of programmes, which include almost any style of music you can think of promoting local bands and musicians, as well as morning and magazine shows, in addition to foreign language programmes in Polish, Portuguese, Cantonese, Farsi and Hindi.

Meanwhile, The Vulture, real name Tim Kenny, will be taking on the challenge of riding 300 miles in just four days between March 27th and March 30th along with colleagues Graham Page and Lee Gardner to raise money for charity.

The team is cycling between their company World Transport Agency’s offices in Manchester, Birmingham, London and Felixstowe to raise money for East Anglia's Children’s Hospices and Butterfly Children’s Hospices in China. The trio has been training hard for over a year getting fit for this mammoth challenge.

World Transport Agency is a corporate sponsor of Butterfly Children’s Hospices, who take in abandoned sick children in China and provide loving care and treatment for children with life-threatening illness or life-limiting conditions, as well as support for their families where they have them to prevent abandonment.

Closer to home, EACH provides care and support for children with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia and relies on charitable donations of £15,000 a day to do this.

So, no matter how hard the challenges the threesome may face on the long road, they are as nothing to the challenges faced by these children. Tim, Graham and Lee are hoping to raise at least £10,000 to be split equally between the two charities.

Tim Kenny, who had the original idea, said: "I wanted to do something challenging in the mould of David Walliams to do my bit for WTA’s chosen charities. I’ve been working hard in the gym and lost nearly three stone in the course of training for the ride!

"The three of us will be struggling on the bikes at times, but this will be for four days; the children we are hoping to help struggle every day of their lives, so anything we can do to help will be worth it.”

The trio aren’t just after money, if you think you can help in any way in terms of providing equipment or assistance for the ride, please contact tim.kenny@wtagroup.com or elaine.evans@wtagroup.com, we’re particularly keen to hear from you if you can loan a couple of suitable bikes for Graham and Lee to train and do the ride on.

Donations can be made and further information found at the team’s Virgin Money Giving page, uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/4infour.
