Edwards Wins Cap But Soca Warriors Lose - Ipswich Town News
Skipper Carlos Edwards won his 83rd full cap for Trinidad and Tobago overnight but couldn't prevent the Soca Warriors from falling to a 2-0 home defeat to Peru.
The South Americans went in front in the 38th minute via Claudio Pizarro with Rinaldo Cruzado adding the second two minutes from time.
Edwards now faces a long trip back to the UK ahead of Saturday's away game at Blackburn.
In similar circumstances earlier in the season, manager Mick McCarthy chose to rest central defender Tommy Smith after he had been away with New Zealand.
