Peters Fails to Win Whitecaps Deal - Ipswich Town News
Former Blue Jaime Peters has failed to win a contract with the Vancouver Whitecaps back in his native Canada. Peters, 25, has been with the MLS side for pre-season, having has his Town contract terminated by mutual consent in the summer.
Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie said: "He came in unfit and we didn’t think he was at the same level he had been, which made it difficult for him.”
Earlier, Peters’s fellow Canadian and former Town team-mate Jason De Vos, these days a TV pundit in Canada, tweeted: "I'm told Peters came into the Whitecaps camp 15lbs overweight and with a high body fat percentage.”
Prior to his time with the Whitecaps, Peters had been on trial at Leyton Orient and Yeovil, where he was on loan earlier in his career.
