Town defender Luke Chambers makes no bones about it — he and his team-mates are on a revenge mission against Blackpool this weekend.
Chambers insists he will never forget the 6-0 mauling at Bloomfield Road back in August in only the third Championship fixture of the current campaign.
He said: "That will definitely be in my mind come Saturday. We definitely feel we owe them one. If any of the boys have forgotten about that I’ll be reminding them come Saturday afternoon.
"It is in games like that one that you see things falling to pieces around you. It’s always difficult, especially as a professional, because you work so hard to prepare for games and give a good account of yourselves.
"Having come away and got hurt the way we did at Blackpool, it’s something that I won’t forget — this year, next year and in a few years’ time. It’s something that is always with you.
"We just need to try and put that to the back of our minds and use it as extra motivation to get ourselves all three points.”
Chambers cast his mind back to the heavy defeat in Lancashire and added: "In the first half we were probably the better team. We gave away a sloppy goal for them to go 1-0 up and it took the wind out of us a little bit.
"They scored again just before half-time, out of nothing really, and from that moment it seemed that every time they put the ball on target it went in the net. It was just one of those games that you have to try to learn from as quickly as you can and I feel we’ve done that.
"We didn’t win for quite a while after that, so maybe it stuck with us but it shouldn’t do. Once any game is over you should put it to one side and concentrate on the next one. That’s what we have been trying to do as a squad and as a club ever since the start of the season.”
Chambers makes no attempt to conceal his admiration for the Tangerines’ talisman, 17-goal leading marksman Tom Ince.
He admitted: "Ince is putting in consistent performances every week. There has been a lot of paper talk about him moving to this club and that club for a lot of money and he is showing week in, week out, that he can deliver.
"But if we can keep him quiet — and I think we have the players to do that — we should be successful on Saturday.”
Meanwhile, Blackpool are expected to confirm youngster Ince's father Paul as their new manager today. The former England skipper is not expected to join the Seasiders squad for the trip to Suffolk with caretaker-boss Steve Thompson expected to be in charge on Saturday.
