Finidi and Matt on Draw - Ipswich Town News

Finidi George and Matt Holland have commented on their international sides' World Cup draws. Finidi's Nigerians are in the group of death with england, Argentina and Sweden while Matt's Irishmen face a less stiff test against Germany, Saudi Arabia and Cameroon.

Finidi, who has said he wil retire from international football after next summer's tournament said: "Nigeria is a very good side and come the World Cup we will see how we handle these games. We know how English teams play but it is quite different in an international game, England have a good coach, good group of players and we are all looking forward to it. With our high calibre of players we can match the other countries in the group. Everyone looks forward to a another World Cup and we see it as an opportunity to do well. Our fans have confidence in us and we will hopefully have a good chance of getting through to the quarter and semi-finals. Over the years African football has really improved and no-one looks at African teams being strong but we are a good continent and I feel that we will do well."

Holland said: "It is as good a draw as we could hoped for. Certainly England would gladly swap places with us and it gives us a good chance to progress in the competition."
