Reo-Coker Set for Whitecaps - Ipswich Town News

Former Blues midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker is close to joining MLS side the Vancouver Whitecaps, according to reports in Canada.

The 28-year-old, who left Portman Road after failing to agree new terms at the end of his three-month deal in January, has long been mentioned in connection with a move to North American with his wife hailing from New York. The New York Red Bulls and Portland Timbers were both previously linked.

Another former Blue, Jaime Peters, was recently on trial with the Whitecaps but failed to win a contract.

Meanwhile, Joe Whight was an unused sub for his new loan club Chelmsford City on Saturday as the Clarets lost 1-0 at Eastleigh, ex-Blues academy scholar Jai Reason netting the only goal from the penalty spot.

Ronan Murray came on as a 69th minute sub for his loan side Plymouth as they lost 1-0 at home to Oxford United.

Murray, who like Whight is out of contract at the end of the season, has made three starts in addition to yesterday’s appearance from the bench since moving to Home Park in January.
