Boro in For Johnno? - Ipswich Town News

Several sources are linking Premiership Middlesbrough with a £4 million offer for David Johnson. This story, which first surfaced last week, has already been refuted once by George Burley but it does seem to one that the press are keen on.

With Town having stated that no-one will be sold this season any offer which comes in will be a test of the board's resolve, while £4 million does seem a touch low given the previously high figures paid for the likes of Nathan Blake and Robbie Keane.

Town are also linked with Darren Caskey again, as are Watford.

Despite the story appearing yesterday, Gary Croft is still in prison. The claim that he had already been released stemmed from an error by the Prison Service. The defender will be released next week and has been given permission by the Football League to wear his electronic tag during games.

Interestingly, Fabian Wilnis picked up his fifth booking of the season at Fulham and will miss the game with Swindon on the 15th. It will be interesting to see whether George Burley considers Croft fit enough to play that game, although he will almost certainly be on the bench otherwise with Micky Stockwell filling in at right wing-back.
