No New Injury Doubts Ahead of Huddersfield Trip - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy has no new injury doubts ahead of Saturday’s game against fellow strugglers Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium. However, right-back Richard Stearman isn’t training after dislocating his finger during the 2-0 defeat to Watford on Tuesday.

McCarthy said: "Everybody’s OK. Stears dislocated his finger and had a bit of trouble getting it put back together. He was being sedated on Tuesday night but he’s all right now though.

"He’s not here, I’ve just told him to stay away. The last thing I need him to do is train and bang it. We’ll meet him up in Huddersfield on Friday and he’ll be fine for the game.”

The Blues boss says winger Lee Martin came through Tuesday's game well having been absent with a hamstring problem: "I thought he did all right for someone who has been out for three weeks. He’s got a remarkable level of fitness. He got blisters, he was struggling with that.”

Anthony Wordsworth (cracked vertebrae) and Paul Taylor (foot) are the only long-term absentees at present.
