Town Linked With Manchester United Defender - Ipswich Town News

Town reported to be targeting a loan move for Manchester United defender Reece Brown, the 21-year-old younger brother of former England international Wes.

Earlier this season, central defender Brown made 10 appearances while on loan at Coventry, alongside January signing David McGoldrick, before being recalled to Old Trafford.

England U20 international Brown, who is 6ft 3in tall, has previously had spells on loan at Bradford, Doncaster and Oldham, and has also played as a holding midfielder and at full-back.

The Blues are believed to be amongst a number of clubs interested in taking Manchester-born Brown on loan.

Speaking earlier this week, manager Mick McCarthy played down the chances of adding anyone else to his squad on loan: "I’m not going to let any of my own players go out because I can’t take any more loans really. Well, I can, but I’d have to leave one of the loans I’ve got off the bench.”
