Posh Paint Apology - Ipswich Town News

Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony has apologised to fans of both Posh and the Blues whose clothes became covered in what appeared to be paint at yesterday’s 0-0 draw between the two clubs.

According to posts on the TWTD forum, the paint seemed to come from the walls of the London Road toilets.

MacAnthony (pictured left with Posh boss Darren Ferguson), who is based in the US, tweeted in response to complaints from fans after the game: "I'm used to abuse about us losing but about paint is a new one.

"Let me apologise all way from the States about issues today. Club will fix… any items damaged/stained by today's freak occurrence.”

The Dubliner added that no painting had taken place at London Road recently: "Nothing has been painted since start of season guys. It was damp apparently that caused this all.”

On-terrace scuffles are reported to have taken place during the game between angry complaining Town supporters and stewards.

Some fans tweeting last night claimed washing clothes removed the paint. Were your clothes covered in paint? Does it wash off? Add your thoughts and comments below.
