Nouble: Point Won at Posh - Ipswich Town News

Frank Nouble is adamant that Town earned a point, rather than dropping two, courtesy of the goalless draw at relegation rivals Peterborough last weekend.

The 21-year-old striker, ruled out of tomorrow’s home clash with Bolton because of a hamstring strain, made his first start at London Road and was close to earning all three points with a shot that crashed against a post.

But he insisted: "It was a point gained and every point is a good point, although looking back at the game it was one we could have won. You win some, you lose some and you just have to move on.”

Nouble had an inkling that manager Mick McCarthy, who had used him as a substitute on eight occasions, might include him in the starting line-up against Posh.

He added: "Training was going well and I was enjoying it. I’ve been here a few weeks now so I was very happy to get a start and I thought I did well in the game.

"I was feeling good and to be told I was starting was a good thing for me. We did well and we were a bit unlucky. We created chances and missed them but on another day we would have won 3-0 or 4-0.

"Apart from the shot that hit the post, their keeper made another good save from me. I was disappointed that I didn’t score because I wanted to come into the team and put my stamp on it.

"But I think my performance showed that I have a lot to offer the team and hopefully I’ll be showing it in the near future."
