Blues boss Mick McCarthy was happy with his side’s point from their 0-0 draw at Millwall and their Easter total of four.
McCarthy said: "It’s a good point, without a doubt. Four points from Easter, three from the home game and one away at Millwall, great.
"It wasn’t a very good game, it was pretty poor, two teams in a relegation scrap. I think we’ve been there all season long and I think it’s dawning on Millwall that they are because they’re one point better off than us and the other teams have won.
"It was nervy, conditions weren’t great, it was blowing a gale, it was a bouncy old pitch. It wasn’t conducive to a great game of football and yet there were quite a lot of chances as well and either team could have won it. I’ll take a point all day long.”
The Blues boss made five changes to his starting line-up and believes he made the right decision: "I’m pleased that I did because I’m not sure that we would have had the energy otherwise. They had an extra day to recover after their previous game and that does make a difference.
"I think it gave us that bit of energy to cope with a difficult dour game. It was very tight in the middle of the park, there were lots of balls in behind. It just gave us that little bit of freshness.
"But in fairness, Lee Martin’s been an ever-present, Chops and Frank Nouble would still have been in the team but for getting injured, Guirane N’Daw’s been an ever-present, and Jay was the one who played well on Saturday.”
He says Andy Drury was always going to be rested, but also had a minor knock which was why he was left off the bench: "Andy was going to be left out for Guirane anyway and he reported a tight groin yesterday. He was all right today, I guess when you think you’re playing you’re all right, if you’re on the bench you might not be all right.
"I made that decision for him. I said that if he has to sit for 60 minutes and come on that wouldn’t be right, so I left him out all together.”
Lions manager Kenny Jackett thought his side had the better of the game’s opportunities: "I felt that we had the better of the chances. Ipswich had a couple but we had more and slightly more clear-cut.
"It’s interesting, since the FA Cup quarter-final, we’ve won two and drawn one and the gap’s closed at the bottom.”
Jackett was also pleased with his side’s holiday points total: "Over this Bank Holiday weekend we’ve got four points out of six, which is a good return.”
