Ainsley and Thorsteinsson Also Released - Ipswich Town News
Manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed that, as reported earlier, Ronan Murray, Joe Whight and Cormac Burke will not be offered new terms by the Blues at the end of the season. The Town boss has also revealed that Icelandic U19 international Gunnar Thorsteinsson and defender Jack Ainsley, who is currently on loan at Chelmsford, will also be released.
McCarthy said: "They are all great lads but they need to go out and play. I've told them that they won't be good enough for my first team and that they won't be offered new deals.
"I hope they go on to prove me wrong and make careers for themselves, but right now they need to go out and play regularly for their development."
