Town Off to St Mirren in Pre-Season - Ipswich Town News

Town will be off to Scotland in pre-season for a friendly against SPL side St Mirren on a date yet to be set, a game which is rumoured to be related to a move for Buddies midfielder Kenny McLean.

St Mirren boss Danny Lennon revealed: "We’ve got a pre-season friendly pencilled in with Ipswich up here and we will also be taking the boys back to Spain for pre-season and we’ll have one or two games over there.”

In January, the Blues were mentioned in connection with McLean (pictured) with rumours in Scotland suggesting the friendly could be linked to a potential summer deal. The 21-year-old has another season remaining on his contract with the Paisley side.

The only other pre-season friendly previously announced is a game at Chippenham Town, also on a date still to be confirmed, which was arranged as part of the Tyrone Mings deal.

Elsewhere, Kilmarnock keeper Cammy Bell, erroneously linked with Town in February, has agreed to join Rangers next season.
