Town to Face Villa Protest - Ipswich Town News

Town's visit to Villa Park a week on Monday will see Villa fans continue their on-going campaign against chairman Doug Ellis.

Fans plan to take action at the game with Town, although they are yet to decide what precise shape the action should take. A press release from Ian Robathan who runs www.ellisout.com says: "Ellisout.com believes that under the current regime the club is stagnating and action has to be taken now. For the Ipswich game, Ellisout.com intends to allow the supporters to show Doug Ellis exactly what we think of him. Further details will be released later in the week."

This escalation in hostilties is largely due to comments by manager John Gregory which appear to align him with the anti-Ellis faction: "On October 29th we were sitting at the top of the Premiership and our failure to go out and strengthen the squad at that point was staggering. It was, in my view, a turning point in the club's history. That's how serious I regarded it."

We await more details of the protest.
