Mings Makes Debut at Burnley - Ipswich Town News

Tyrone Mings will make his debut for the Blues in Mick McCarthy’s promised much-changed side at Burnley this afternoon (KO 12.45pm). Academy second-year scholar Jack Marriott is on the bench.

The December signing from Chippenham Town starts at left-back with Patrick Kisnorbo making his full league debut for the Blues at the centre of the defence alongside Tommy Smith. Scott Loach is in goal and Richard Stearman is at right-back.

Aaron Cresswell, who if he plays the full game will have completed every minute of Town’s season, will start on the left of midfield with Anthony Wordsworth and Luke Hyam in the centre and skipper Carlos Edwards on the right. Frank Nouble and Daryl Murphy are again up front.

Midfielder Andy Drury, who we understand has been told be won't be offered new terms by the Blues this summer, didn't travel with the squad with his partner expecting a baby.

Michael Chopra, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Reece Brown and Jason Brown all travelled - and made a brief pre-match appearance in the Burnley pressroom - but aren't included in the 18. Full match preview here.

Shortly before kick-off, you can join other Town fans in our chatroom to discuss the match. The chatroom is open to anyone registered on TWTD and match photos will be published there when available. You can find it here and it should work in any browser or on any device.
