Burke Interesting Wimbledon - Ipswich Town News

Released midfielder Cormac Burke is interesting League Two survivors AFC Wimbledon amongst a number of other lower league clubs, TWTD understands. The Northern Irish U19 international was told he would not be handed new terms by the Blues last month.

The 19-year-old made only one senior appearance for Town having come through the academy, coming on as a late sub in the Capital One Cup victory over Bristol Rovers on the opening day of the season.

Meanwhile, Gunnar Thorsteinsson, who was released at the same time as Burke, made his debut for his new club ÍBV back in his native Iceland in a 1-0 home victory over ÍA on Sunday.

Player-manager Hermann Hreidarsson made an appearance from the bench, while ex-England international David James was another debutant in goal.
