Hewitt Aiming to Push On - Ipswich Town News
Right-back Elliott Hewitt says he’s hoping to get a good pre-season under his belt this summer and then push on during the new season proper. The Wales U21 international missed all of last year’s pre-season having undergone two hip impingement operations while still with Macclesfield.
Hewitt, who celebrates his 19th birthday today having joined the Blues on a contract until 2015 on his 18th, told the club site: "I obviously missed all pre-season last year because of the injuries and I didn’t think I would play much.
"It was a bonus to get in the first team and play as much as I did and I was really pleased with the way things went.
"It was a big step up for me and I’m still adjusting to it but I’m looking to get a good pre-season under my belt this time and really push on from there.”
Having made his Blues debut as a late sub in the 3-0 home victory over Millwall in December, Hewitt has now made three starts and five appearances from the bench.
