Newcastle in For Bramble? - Ipswich Town News

After yesterday's news that Titus Bramble has refused an extension to his Portman Road contract the speculation is already underway. Newcastle are the first side to linked, although this appears to be mainly down to Bobby Robson saying he was after one more player at the weekend.

The former Town boss, talking after Sunday's game said: "We need another player in, although I'm not going to tell you what position."

Bramble is a close friend of Kieron Dyer and it is claimed sources in the North-East suspect some Robson interest in the Town centre-half.

Meanwhile Bramble's agent Jonathan Barnett said of recent events: "We had a meeting in which they put a propsition to us that we did not find acceptable. That's the last we heard from them. There is absolutely no rush though. We will wait and see that happens, Titus is happy at the club."

With two-and-a-half years left on his contract and a relegation battle to be fought it seems unlikely that Town would accept offers for Bramble at the present time.
