Bramble "Staying" - Ipswich Town News

New contract refusing Town defender Titus Bramble has refuted the stories claiming an imminent move to Bobby Robson's Newcastle United. Talking to TWTD at Wednesday's reserve game with Spurs, Bramble also said he was still confident that Town would make Premiership survival.

Of the stories claiming an imminent move to Newcastle Bramble said: "It's rubbish. I've had no contact from Newcastle. I'm staying here."

Bramble's agent Jonathan Barnett said yesterday that the defender's current contract has a long way to go, and that the Town defender was happy at Portman Road.

Bramble, a regular watcher of Town's reserve games, praised the performances of last night's scorers Martijn Reuser and Tommy Miller, a player he feels unlucky not to have got more of a chance this season.

Dropped for the weekend's match with Newcastle, Bramble hopes to be involved in the game with Aston Villa next Monday and he is confident Town will beat the drop: "Leicester, we should have beaten them when we played them. And Derby, remember them down here? We beat them easily. And Southampton, we're a better side than they are. There's a long way to go and I see us getting above those sides at least. I'm confident that we'll make it."

Imran Louza gave the Hornets the lead in the 16th minute but the Blues hit back through Jaden Philogene five minutes later. While chances had been few and far between in the first half, Town had plenty in a second period they dominated but failed to find what would have been a deserved winner.
