Town and Leicester City are chasing Mick McCarthy’s one-time Wolves captain Karl Henry, according to one of this morning’s tabloids.
The Blues boss is a big fan of Henry, who has been linked with Town on several occasions since McCarthy took over at Portman Road, however, the 30-year-old midfielder's lucrative Wolves contract runs for another three years and the reported asking price of £850,000 is likely to be well beyond the Blues at present. Leicester would currently appear a more likely destination.
Elsewhere, Town, Hull City and Blackburn Rovers are showing interest in Millwall keeper David Forde with the newly-promoted Tigers the favourites for his signature, according to Irish reports. The 33-year-old Ireland international has a year remaining on his contract with the Lions.
Some of this morning’s nationals also report Town offering terms to Wycombe winger Joel Grant and Tranmere keeper Owain Fon Williams, as reported by TWTD on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Blues, Crystal Palace, Doncaster, Blackpool and Millwall are all reported to have shown interest in 32-year-old Irish international midfielder Steven Reid, who is now close to agreeing new terms with his current club West Brom.
