Drury Yet to Speak to Crawley - Ipswich Town News

Released midfielder Andy Drury says he’s yet to speak to his former loan club Crawley about a return to the Broadfield Stadium, despite being linked with the League One side on a number of occasions during the summer.

Drury told the Crawley News that no deal is currently on the cards: "I’m not signing as far as I know. I haven’t spoken to anyone at Crawley Town and as far as I know, neither has my agent.

"I’ve spoken to a couple of people who have said to me ‘Are you signing for Crawley?’ but I don’t know where it has come from.”

Drury, who spent a successful loan spell at the Sussex club while with the Blues late in 2011, says he has talked to a few teams since being told he would not be offered new terms by Town: "I’ve spoken to a couple of clubs.”

The Blues face Crawley in a pre-season friendly at the Broadfield Stadium on Wednesday 10th July.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are widely reported to be close to signing Sevilla left-back Antonio Luna, a deal which might suggest a move for long-time target Aaron Cresswell is less likely.
