Pompey: We've Spoken to Grant But He Might Join Ipswich - Ipswich Town News
Portsmouth assistant boss Steve Allen has revealed that the League Two side have spoken to Wycombe Wanderers winger Joel Grant this summer, but says the 25-year-old may join Town. A fortnight ago, TWTD revealed that Grant is amongst the Blues’ summer targets.
Allen said: "We met Joel Grant of Wycombe, he hasn’t gone anywhere yet but he might end up going to Ipswich.”
Speaking yesterday, Blues boss Mick McCarthy, who is notorious for playing his cards close to his chest regarding his targets, played down his interest in Grant and Blackpool defender Kirk Broadfoot, who is also out of contract this summer.
Wycombe were back for pre-season training today but Grant is not understood to have returned to the League Two club.
Perhaps notably, the Chairboys have completed the signing of former Plymouth winger Paris Cowan-Hall.
