McCarthy: We Played All Right - Ipswich Town News
Despite having said he's not overly concerned with results in pre-season, manager Mick McCarthy was happy with his side’s 2-1 victory at Crawley Town. Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick (pen) were on target at the Broadfield Stadium.
"I’d sooner be talking about wins than being beaten and I think we played all right tonight,” he said. "I think they played well in the first half, knocked the ball around well.
"In the second half I thought we were probably better. But they’re just finding their feet the two teams that played.”
Aaron Cresswell came off with what appeared to be a thigh injury and his manager hopes it’s nothing too serious: "Cressy’s had to come off, so I hope that’s nothing too drastic, I don’t think it is.
"But then Rocco [David October] comes on and does well, so that was OK. Overall I’m pleased with them.”
