Mings Only Senior Player at Chippenham - Ipswich Town News
Tyrone Mings will be the only member of the senior squad in action for a Town XI against his old club Chippenham at Hardenhuish Park on Saturday afternoon (KO 1pm). The friendly was agreed as part of the deal which saw the 20-year-old move to Portman Road in December.
Manager Mick McCarthy says U21s coach Mark Kennedy will be in charge in Wiltshire: "It’ll be Sparky that will be taking them down.
"There’ll only be Tyrone Mings that will be involved from [Wednesday’s] squad. I haven’t got enough players, they’re not playing down there. The U21s will be going down there.”
The rest of the travelling party is set to be made up of first-year pros and academy scholars.
Town's next first team friendly is at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium on Tuesday (KO 7.30pm).
