Town and Blackpool are showing interest in Swansea central midfielder Kemy Agustien, according to one of this morning’s tabloids. The 26-year-old Dutchman has been made available for transfer by the Swans despite having a year left on his contract.
Agustien started his career with Willem II, before moving on to AZ Alkmaar in 2006. After four years with Town’s 1981 UEFA Cup final opponents — which included loan spells at Roda JC and Birmingham City — he moved on to Swansea in 2010 on a Bosman.
The former Dutch U21 international, who spent time on loan at Crystal Palace towards the end of 2010/11, made 21 appearances for the Welsh club last season.
Another central midfield player wouldn’t appear to be amongst Town’s current priorities with Cole Skuse - who was at his former club Bristol City's friendly with Rangers yesterday - and Jay Tabb having been added to the squad already this summer.
Elsewhere, Blackburn are claimed to be looking to off-load ex-Blues loanee DJ Campbell only a couple of weeks after signing the 31-year-old on a two-year deal following his release by QPR.
We understand the Blues were amongst the clubs to have held talks with Campbell, who scored 10 goals in a 17-game loan spell at Portman Road before Christmas, prior to him signing his deal with Blackburn, where he had been on loan in the final months of last season.
