Trio Make Debuts at Stevenage - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy hands Frederic Veseli, Christophe Berra and Dean Gerken (pictured) their Blues debuts in tonight’s Capital One Cup tie at Stevenage. Up front, the Town manager gives Paul Taylor his first start in 11 months alongside Frank Nouble.

With Aaron Cresswell (thigh) and Tyrone Mings (knee) out injured, former Stevenage loanee Tommy Smith switches to left-back in a side featuring six changes from Saturday.

Paul Anderson makes his first start for Town having been a sub at Reading, while youngsters Kyle Hammond and Amir Berkane are amongst the subs.

Stevenage were forced into a late change when keeper Chris Day twisted his ankle in the warm-up. Steve Arnold took over.

Stevenage: Arnold, Wedgbury, Hills, Ashton, Morais, Charles, Burrow, Heslop, Freeman, Tansey, Tounkara. Subs: Day, Jones, Akins, Haber, N'Guessen, Shroot, Deacon.
