Reduced FA Cup Admission for Town Fans at Walsham - Ipswich Town News

Thurlow Nunn Premier Division Walsham-le-Willows are offering Town season ticket holders £1 off admission to their FA Cup extra preliminary round tie against Essex Senior League side Tower Hamlets at Summer Road on Saturday (KO 3pm).

The Willows’ assistant manager, former Cambridge United striker John Taylor, is a man with FA Cup pedigree having reached the quarter-finals on two occasions.

He said: "Having been a losing quarter-finalist twice, the expression on players' faces when you lose really tells you what it means to them.

"The prize money, if you are fortunate to win a couple of matches, can make a real difference to the season as football clubs at this level always struggle to make ends meet.

"We look forward to hosting Tower Hamlets FC and it is an opportunity to make new friends in the football community.”

Former Blue Gavin Johnson, scorer of a famous Town FA Cup goal at Anfield in the 1991/92 season, is still playing for the Willows, now aged 42.

In addition to watching the first step on the long road to Wembley, pre-match entertainment will be provided by Walsham’s U11s taking on their Elmswell counterparts and the introduction of Rhode Island Red, the club’s new chicken mascot, as well as a bouncy castle for children.

Admission prices for Saturday’s game are £6 for adults and £4 concessions, reduced by £1 on presentation of your Town season ticket. Under-16s get in for free with a paying adult.
