Hewitt Set to Win Seventh U21 Cap - Ipswich Town News

Right-back Elliott Hewitt is set to win his seventh Wales U21 cap this afternoon when his side take on Finland in a Euro 2015 qualifier at Bangor City’s Book People Stadium (KO 4pm).

Hewitt, 19, is pleased to be involved having missed the previous match in March: "I was disappointed to miss out on the opening fixture [a 1-0 home victory over Moldova] because of injury, but I hope that my experience gained in the previous campaign will be of use.

"The boss has a specific way that he wants the team to play and has got a good group of lads around him.”

Welsh U21s boss and ex-Blues midfielder Geraint Williams expects a tough game: "They will be a stern test.

"They were unlucky not to take all the points in their match with Lithuania and of course they are half way through their season, whilst our lads are just getting started, so it will be a tough test, but one that I think we can overcome.”

Wales U21s: Connor Roberts (Cheltenham Town), Danny Ward (Liverpool), Daniel Alfei (Swansea City), Lee Evans (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Morgan Fox (Charlton Athletic), Kieron Freeman (Derby County), Elliott Hewitt (Ipswich Town), Scott Tancock (Swansea City), Joe Walsh (Crawley Town), Billy Bodin (Torquay United), Chris Dawson (Leeds United), Emyr Huws (Manchester City), Lloyd Isgrove (Southampton), Lee Lucas (Swansea City), Wes Burns (Bristol City), Jake Cassidy (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Ellis Harrison (Bristol Rovers), Tom Lawrence (Manchester United).
