No Bristol City Move for Carson - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Josh Carson will be back at Portman Road tomorrow after Bristol City decided not to pursue their interest in the 20-year-old, who has been on trial at Ashton Gate for more than a fortnight.

Carson played for Northern Ireland’s U21s as they lost 4-1 to Denmark yesterday and manager Mick McCarthy says he’ll now be returning to the Blues: "He played yesterday for Northern Ireland and he’ll be back here tomorrow. He’s not staying at Bristol City.”

The Town boss dismissed rumours that the Blues have received interest in Aaron Cresswell, with claims that Fulham had made an offer for the left-back circulating earlier in the week.

Asked whether he’d received any enquiries regarding the ex-Tranmere man, McCarthy said: "No, I haven’t. The headline can be ‘McCarthy Denies Any Interest in Aaron’.”

Meanwhile, we understand former Blue Titus Bramble is still training with the Town squad.

The 31-year-old was on trial with his hometown club earlier in the summer but McCarthy ruled out the former Sunderland, Wigan and Newcastle man re-signing at Portman Road after Christophe Berra joined the Blues.

Ex-striker Alan Lee, who is now coaching with the Town academy, has also continued to train with the first-team squad at Playford Road.

Elsewhere, former Blues keeper Neil Alexander has signed for Premier League new boys Crystal Palace after leaving Rangers in the summer, while ex-loanee Ricardo Fuller has joined Michael Chopra at Blackpool.
