Murray and Bennett Join Kiwomya's Notts County - Ipswich Town News
Former Blues Ronan Murray and Callum Bennett have joined Chris Kiwomya’s Notts County after trials.
The 21-year-old striker was released by the Blues at the end of last season, while former Kesgrave High School pupil and U18s skipper Bennett, a 19-year-old right-back, turned down a contract at Portman Road in the summer of 2012.
Murray, who spent time on loan at Torquay, Swindon and Plymouth while a Town player, came off the bench for the Magpies in the Blues’ 3-3 pre-season draw at Meadow Lane, while Bennett remained on the bench during that game.
Republic of Ireland U21 international Murray made one start and 13 sub appearances for Town, scoring once.
Both players worked under County boss Kiwomya during his time as a coach at Portman Road.
Elsewhere, former Blue Darren Bent has completed his loan move from Aston Villa to Fulham.
