Open Training Day Today - Ipswich Town News

Town are holding their annual open training day at Portman Road this morning. The Blues have held similar events for the past two years with nearly 3,000 people attending last summer.

This year, for the first time, supporters will be able to watch the annual photocall, which will be followed by a signing session, before the players train on the pitch in preparation for next Saturday’s home game against Leeds United.

There will also be other attractions on the Field Turf behind the East of England Co-op Stand including bouncy castles, inflatable assault courses, bungee runs and zorbing.

Gates open at 10am with the training session due to get underway at 10.30am and the event ending at 2pm. Entry is free to all.

This morning's Mark Murphy show on Radio Suffolk comes live from Portman Road featuring interviews with a number of Town figures.

Meanwhile, former loan midfielder Guirane N’Daw’s agent Pierre Frelot has said his player would be interested in a return to Town now that his court case is over: "We are available if Ipswich want to sign him and we are ready to speak with Ipswich.”

However, Blues boss Mick McCarthy has stated he’s not looking to add to his squad any further and when speaking about his current squad last week said he feels he now has a better player in a role similar to the one the 29-year-old Senegalese international occupied last season: "I’d argue that Cole Skuse is a better replacement for big Guirane, as good as he was for us.”

N'Daw, who spent last season on loan with the Blues, was released by his parent club St Etienne at the end of June and is a free agent.
