Skuse Hopeful He'll Be Fit for Leeds Clash - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Cole Skuse says he’s hopeful he’ll be over the injury he suffered at QPR on Saturday in time to face Leeds at Portman Road this weekend. The 27-year-old was forced off at half-time at Loftus Road with an Achilles’ problem.
Speaking at this morning’s open training day, the Bristolian said he wouldn’t be taking part: "I won’t be training today, I’m pencilled in for a bit of TLC from the physio department. But I’ll be keeping a close eye on the lads sweating in the heat.
"I’ve got a lighter day today, I’ll rest up and hopefully get my injury sorted for the weekend. I’m hoping so, I’d like to be strapped up and ready to go, so we’ll see.”
He added: "It’s my Achilles’ and ankle. It was a strange one, I’ve made a tackle, everything’s jarred up and tweaked, but I think it’s more old age than anything.”
Keep Dean Gerken also didn't take part in this morning's session on the main Portman Rad pitch, having missed the trip to West London with a dead leg suffered in a collision with Frank Nouble in training.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
